Faults and Plate Boundaries

Learning Target: Students will learn the difference between faults and plate boundaries by building them using various tools.

Instructions

Use OpenSCAD, Desmos, or another animation tool to develop an animated diagram of one of the three main fault types or the three main types of plate boundaries. Students may modify the code from the examples below.

  1. Faults: normal, thrust, strike-slip 
  2. Plate Boundaries: divergent, convergent, and transform
